Mick Graham, Bill Doidge and Mick O Brien (the "country boys") ran the Glendale Show 5 mile in the wilds of North Northumberland.

Race information courtesy of Mick O Brien.

"Although billed as a Fell race, it was somewhat lacking in challenging gradients."
And as an indication of the personal battles within all races "finally got the scalp of Bill Doidge at the 4th attempt after he beat me for the first time in his running career this year - mind it was only the last hill that finished him off and there was only seconds in it."
All times are not available at present. With Mick Graham being the first club finisher.

Alwinton Fell Race 2003
May 17th 2003

One hardy sole took part in this arduous race,Mick O Brian, who said. " I let my heart rule my head on Saturday and opted for the long course at Alwinton as there were only 3 punters showed for the short course. There are about 3 and a half miles of open fell on the high parts of the course and my feelings about the going here is unprintable."
A tough day out it seems.

Elswick Road Relays
April 18th 2003

After a couple of wrong turns i finally found the course down by the riverside amongst a newly developed Industrial Estate.

In ideal conditions on a flat route there were plenty of fast times.

Low Fell had one team in this race, with a mixture of youth and experience.
Jon Archer took the first leg and came home in 6th place in a time of 11:14. On the second leg Mark McDonald continued the good performance losing only one place in 7th, albeit to international Andy Caine of Tynedale. The third leg saw Brian Hume return in 13th and completing the team Geoff Hume who came home in 15th.

Wallsend 10k
April 6th 2003

There were some very good results and a large turnout of eleven members for this race.
Pride of place goes to Jon Archer and Mark McDonald who after a bit of a tussle finished in 2nd and 4th places respectively, with only 1 second seperating them. Third finisher was Neil Morris (16th overall), venturing away from his favoured terrain of cross country, fourth (25th overall) was Andy Hughes.
Unfortunately there was no team prize for this race where we must have been in with a good chance of winning.

The results do not include all the positions in the various age catagories, as they were not among the results pages i looked at.
